“The Ballad of Tam Lin,” a Passim Iguana Music-funded folk-rock opera, is taking to the stage with a full-band, full-cast performance. Written by Molly Pinto Madigan, this project re-tells the Scottish tale of “Tam Lin” in an exciting, modern way, with some of the hottest names in folk music bringing the characters to life. Vance Gilbert, Mark Erelli, Alec Hutson, Jenee Halstead, Lyle Brewer, Julian Loida, Eva Walsh, Sam Margolis, and James Heazlewood-Dale and more brought their unique talents to the album. Come see it performed live in a special one-night show at The Burren!

Hailed for her angelic voice and haunting compositions, Molly Pinto Madigan won first place in WUMB's Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest and was named "Artist of the Year" at Salem State University, her alma mater. Since her debut as the lead singer for the teen bluegrass band Jaded Mandolin, Madigan has submerged herself in the dark, luscious world of ballads, drawn to their magic, and her original songs echo with the whisperings of the American and European traditional music.
