Tiger Moan Holiday Blues Party Featuring Chris Hersch
Now in the second year of their Burren Sunday residency, Tiger Moan invites special guests each month and we'll push the tables aside to make room for dancing. Dance lesson at 7pm included in the cover. This month, we'll throw in just enough holiday cheer to get your spirits high for special guest Chris Hersch!
Chris Hersch studied Jazz Guitar at The New England Conservatory and has toured nationally and internationally with Girls Guns & Glory, Sarah Borges, Gracie Curran, Samantha Farrell, and others. Chris has received two Boston Music Awards (2011 & 2013 with Girls Guns & Glory), and was voted among the ‘Best Roots Guitar Players Nationwide’ (2014 The Alternate Root). He has opened for notable acts including Albert Lee, Los Lobos, Dale Watson, J.D. McPherson, Bill Kirchen, and The Derailers. Chris co-founded Say Darling with Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Celia Woodsmith. Chris is also the founding member of Chris Hersch & The MoonRaiders, a western swing band that was nominated for ‘Best Roots Act of the Year’ (2019 New England Music Awards). Chris was nominated for another Boston Music Award nominee for ‘Best Blues Act of the Year’ (2019 Gracie Curran & The High Falutin’ Band). Most recently, Chris was included in Jazz Guitar Today's overview of the Boston Jazz guitar scene (2022).
Amy Kucharik & Tiger Moan: Specializing in vintage "Vaudeville" blues with sass and class, Tiger Moan has entertained blues and swing dancers at events such as Sweet Molasses Blues, Blues Union, Yale Swing & Blues and MIT's Bread & Bones fusion dance. Tiger Moan is known for covering the best blues standards and for funky originals with innovative lyrics. With Amy Kucharik on vocals, ukulele, tenor guitar and harmonica and a rotating cast of top-notch musicians on keys, upright bass, horns, washboard and kit percussion, and more.
