Crowes Pasture, Lara Herscovitch

Crowes Pasture, Lara Herscovitch
Crowes Pasture -  A roots-infused, Contemporary Folk duo, Crowes Pasture performs original music and eye-opening covers that reflect a mutual passion, sense of discovery and celebration of life. Hailing from Massachusetts, the romantic clawhammer banjo playing by Monique Byrne and expressive guitar picking by Andy Rogovin are enlivened by their personal chemistry and emotionally eloquent vocals. Add to that, their tightly blended vocal harmonies and unique instrumental style that can only be described as a “banjo-guitar romance.”

Crowes Pasture has been a supporting act for The Kennedys and The Small Glories, and have performed at a number of incredible venues including Club Passim, Shalin Liu Performance Center, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Bull Run. Additionally, the duo has received nominations as Roots Act of the Year in the New England Music Awards and Americana Artist of the Year in the Boston Music Awards for 2019, and they were finalists for Best Group/Duo in the 2021 & 2020 International Acoustic Music Awards.

Lara Herscovitch is a singer-songwriter-poet-performer-author gem. As described in The Boston Globe, she brings “a luminous voice and a buoyant stage presence… big-hearted lyrics embrace the sum of life… Herscovitch’s music blows on the embers of a lagging spirit or a dormant creative life.” Lara leads with authenticity, integrity, humor and heart. Sound Waves Magazine described her music as “expertly written prose… songwriting at its best… good for your ears AND your soul.” Acoustic Live in New York City added, “She possesses not only a huge reservoir of musical talent and a voice with a bell-like clarity, but a keen sense of global concern and a fierce intellect... It might seem too good to be true, but true it is.

Lara’s songs are soulful, poetic treasure maps that point to the wisdom, grit and joy of underdogs and misfits, connection and courage, love and loss, hardship and hope, resilience and transformation. She writes masterful modern Folk-Americana music, and delivers performances that inspire, uplift and entertain.
