Cosy Sheridan, Tom Smith
Cosy Sheridan has been called one of the era’s finest and most thoughtful songwriters. My Fence & My Neighbor listed at # 4 on folk radio in 2018. She plays a percussive guitar style backed by the strong rhythms and harmonies of her bass player Charlie Koch and keyboardist Kent Allyn. She first appeared on the national folk scene in 1992 when she won the songwriting contests at The Kerrville Folk Festival and The Telluride Bluegrass Festival. She has been on the road ever since. “You can't make it into double digits, and continue touring for twenty or so years, unless you know what you're doing, and do it well,” said The Chicago Examiner. She has played at Carnegie Hall, The Cowgirl Hall of Fame and the Jerry Lewis Telethon. Her CD Pretty Bird was included in Sing Out Magazine’s Great CDs of 2014. The Albuquerque Journal might have summed it up best when they wrote: “A buddhist monk in a 12-step program trapped in the body of a singer-songwriter.”

Tom Smith - In the words of noted WUMB Boston radio DJ, Dave Palmeter, “Contrary to what a lot of people think, folk music is still a living tradition. It’s a living tradition that feeds on new songs that speak of people’s wants, people’s needs, people’s struggles and people’s triumphs. Tom Smith is a man who writes songs that seem like they’ve always been there. There are very few songwriters working today that I would call folksingers, but I would call Tom Smith a true folksinger.” A folk veteran of over forty years, Tom performs at festivals, coffeehouses, schools, and concerts throughout the Northeastern United States to audiences large and small, young and old. Tom will be joined this evening by talented multi-instrumentalist Seth Connelly to celebrate the release of his brand new album, "Planting in a Drought”.
