Jennifer Truesdale Band, Jerry Velona and the Joint Venture Band, Tom Appleman
Jennifer Truesdale Band
with Joe Musella (guitar), Tom Appleman (bass), Jerry Velona (drums)
Boston-based singer-songwriter Jennifer Truesdale is a musical alchemist of sorts: infusing funk, soul, jazz, R&B, pop, and even gospel, with her signature touch of velvety blues for magical results. Her latest solo release, “Through The Circle” benefits from this approach to celebrate life, love, laugher and the transformative power of reflection. In this collection of eight deftly crafted originals and two stunning interpretations, Truesdale finds beauty and magnitude in even the smallest moments of the day-to-day, those that connect and equalize us. An illustrative chronicle of her own journey as singer/songwriter, keen observer of humanity, and woman-in-progress, it is by turns sultry, anguished, funny, and victorious; but always authentic, and always delivered in a refreshingly empowered female voice.
“...a beautiful tapestry of blues, soul, R’n’B, gospel influences. This one will be good for your soul!” - Making A Scene Magazine

Jerry Velona and the Joint Venture Band - “I think the reason why getting older is looked upon negatively by most people is they assume you have to stop doing what you’ve always wanted to do and grow up.” My interview subject let out a loud laugh. He went on, “To me, ‘growing up’ means just the opposite. It’s finally realizing what you’re about and starting to put that accumulated wisdom and experience to good use.”
