Have Yerself a Fuzzy Little Xmas
Fuzzy, one of Boston's favorite 90’s indie rock bands are reuniting for a Girls Rock Campaign Boston fundraiser on Sunday December 15th featuring rock star heroes of the 90’s: Buffalo Tom, Merrie Amsterburg, Thalia Zedek ,Scruffy The Cat (David/Stephen Fredette) and more! all playing holiday tunes and some of their infectious 90’s hits at the Burren in Somerville, MA.
GRCB, a feminist non profit organization based in rock-n-roll
Was co founded by Hilken Mancini And Nora Allen Wiles and is 9 years in the making. It empowers girls and women to believe in themselves by providing a supportive community that fosters self-expression, confidence and collaboration through musical education and performance.
Fuzzy has been in Rolling Stone as having written one of the top 50 songs of the 90’s: “Kids from Boston with exactly one perfect song in them…how many other magnificent quasi-grunge tunes are out there buried on forgotten major-label albums from the post-Nirvana gold rush, waiting to be discovered? There can’t be many this great” —RollingStone
Fuzzy is: Hilken Mancini- co-founder of Girls Rock Campaign Boston and infamous from her days of creating Punk Rock Aerobics —she plays guitar and sings. The incredible talent and equally powerful guitar and amazing vocalist Chris Toppin — now of Love Love, and from the band the ExGirlfriends and bassist Winston Braman who was in Consonant (Mission of Burma Clint’s solo band project), tours in the band Come in early oughts and now in Thalia Zedek’s band. They will be joined this nigh by drummer extraordinaire Jefferson Riordan of Love Love for this one show! David Ryan of the original band moved to NYC and couldn’t make the trip up this time!
Since 1992, on tours with the likes Dinosaur Jr, The Lemonheads, Belly, Juliana Hatfield, Fuzzy has been capturing hearts all over Boston since then and rarely play shows here if ever!
