The Foggy Mountain Consort on the Back Patio
The Foggy Mountain Consort is Boston’s premier R&B (Renaissance/Bluegrass) band. This five-piece ensemble fuses the delicate beauty of Renaissance music with the inventiveness and energy of fiddle and banjo-driven roots music, and with the honest beauty of traditional folk songs.
The Foggy Mountain Consort is dedicated to performing music from a wide historical range – starting with plucked string music and songs from as early as 1600. While this music is very old, it still rings contemporary when approached in the right manner. We mix old instruments with newer ones, old styles with a fresh approach, and have a great time making music together. We try to play and sing with all our heart and soul, have no fear, and enjoy the collaboration.
The Foggy Mountain Consort are:
Peter Lehman - Theorbo, Mandolin and Vocals
Anne Goodwin – Guitar and Vocals
Doug Freundlich - Violone and Vocals
Lauck Benson – Banjos and Vocals
Art Schatz – Fiddle and Vocals
