SHK Music Presents: Julien Kasper Band Record Release Party at Boston Harbor Distillery

Acclaimed guitar virtuoso Julien Kasper is a unique musician who has absorbed multiple genres into his musical DNA – rock, jazz, blues, funk, classical – to create a voice as a composer and improviser that is truly his own.
On his new, eponymously titled album, Julien’s fiery playing, rich tone, soulful writing and organic production aesthetic are all present in abundance. As with his previous releases, Julien’s guitar is the nuanced, expressive, singing voice of this all - original instrumental album.
Live and on record Julien’s choice of musicians reflect his priorities of groove and group interaction. Bassist Jesse Williams and drummer Zac Casher have, between them, recorded and toured with a who’s who of American roots and groove masters: The North Mississippi Allstars, Johnny Adams, Henry Butler, D’Angelo, Immani Coppala, Al Kooper, to name a few. Julien Kasper features guest appearances by jazz piano great Daniela Schächter (Patti Austin, Terri Lynn Carrington, Shirley Horn) and Hammond B-3 organist Matt Jenson (Groundation, Cyril Lance, Ronnie Earl). For this Boston Harbor Distillery concert Julien will be performing with Zac Casher and Jesse Williams and special guest Daniela Schachter.
Julien Kasper was born in France, raised in the American South, and resides in the Boston area. Julien is a professor on the guitar faculty at Berklee College of Music.
