Rachel Raven sings among the Allstar Cats - Benefit for The Cat Connection

Rachel Raven - When Rachel sings, people know it. A matrix of sound, emotion, and serenity weaves through the house: singer to audience, audience to singer, and all to one another. The external disappears and my voice becomes one with my heart. It is the sum and soul of who I am as a performer. Covers and an abundance of original compositions, I delight in sharing my interpretations of this music with others. It is what drives me on the stage.
Having studied the voice since early childhood, I now find myself at a summit with my performing. Knowing that artists can be the harbingers of social change, it is my desire to relay messages of hope and healing to others. Listeners find my vocals not only to be entertainment but also a vehicle for social and personal transformation. My songwriting is becoming richer and my performance evolving, inspiring and affecting many new people.

Sweet Wednesday - The sailor and the dancer, the young girl stranded along Route 66 at dusk, the refugees who turn into ravens…Sweet Wednesday’s songs spin tales that allow listeners to peek into the human soul in its most intimate and magical moments. Consisting of award-winning songwriters Dave Falk (vocals, harmonies, guitars, harmonica), and Lisa Housman (vocals, harmonies, guitar, keys), this internationally touring duo has shared their songs in clubs, coffeehouses, colleges, and festivals across the US and in Europe.
"Think about the last time you received an unexpected and totally delightful gift. That's just how I felt when I heard the music of Sweet Wednesday. You'll forgive the gushing when you hear the alt-country, folk, roots sound of the Boston-based duo known individually as Dave Falk and Lisa Housman. I didn't think musicians made music this addictive anymore." – Nancy Dunham, MTV Partner Ourstage
