Oropendola, Aerhart, DATCHA
Oropendola - Joanna Schubert, the Brooklyn-based singer/keyboardist/composer/arranger behind Oropendola, creates kaleidoscopic chamber pop filled to the brim with energy and emotion. Her debut full-length album, Waiting for the Sky to Speak - released back in March - is an imaginative, colorful ride partly influenced by Kate Bush, Alice in Wonderland, and deep limbo states. For the Rabbits calls Oropendola's music "at the meeting point between arms-in-the-air pop perfection and something altogether more jarring and intriguing." Joanna has also been a touring member of Half Waif and Barrie, and sung with Gnawa musician Samir Langus.

Aerhart is the solo project of Brooklyn-based vocalist, songwriter, composer and burgeoning producer Amelia Wellers. Her debut work, WALLFLOWER, was self-released as a full-length LP on October 22, of 2021. For fans of Joni Mitchell with overtones of Weyes Blood, Aerhart's agile and resonant voice weaves together her tightly structured songs of longing with uniquely grounding soundscapes, transporting us to the subliminal and leaving us with a record that has been likened to “whatever they play in the Vatican but heavily electrocuted.” Amelia graduated from Tufts University with a BFA in Music and lived in Somerville until 2018. She's thrilled to return to the same stage where she played her first original songs at The Burren's Open Mic Night.
